The Rio Grande Route
The Ruta del Río Grande Heritage Regeneration Project creates a heritage route in the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve — one of the longest continuously inhabited places in the Americas – designated UNESCO World Heritage in 2018. Seven unique communities assets anchor the route, including the rock art at Cueva de las Manitas in Santiago Dominguillo, where a newly constructed Visitor Center will be a gateway to the route, bringing sustainable livelihood to local communities and ensuring stewardship of an extraordinary cultural landscape.
The Majestic Cinema Cultural Hub
Stone Town of Zanzibar is an extraordinary ensemble of coraline stone buildings representing a fusion of Swahili, Indian, Arab, and European influences — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. CHiFA is financing the adaptive reuse of the art deco Majestic Cinema, designed by a Zanzibari architect, as a permanent cultural hub for three local organizations: the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), Busara Productions’ music festival, and Reclaim Womens Space.
Heritage Accelerator
The CHiFA Heritage Accelerator works with municipalities, social entrepreneurs, and heritage organizations in World Heritage Cities to build the institutional capacity and financial models needed to attract private investment.
